Still an issue in Edgy release. In other news I fiddled with running a custom version the 2.6.19 kernel on a Debian install. I enabled the experimental libata driver for the ali5229 IDE controller, which is supposedly a rewrite. Same issue, though the printouts from the new driver may be useful, I've added them to this comment.
