Public bug reported:

Intrepid Alpha-5 updated till today.

Locking the screen, either automatic or by pressing ctrl-alt-L results in a 
black screen that doesn't take any input anymore. (Neither regular text, or 
ctrl+alt-F1 combination)
Only solution is a hard power reset, when doing the locking manual the mouse is 
still available, and music keeps playing in background.

Setting up a clean configuration fixed the issue for about a day, but
then it turns up again.

I did notice some errors in my xorg.0.log.old file

[mi] mieqEnequeue: out-of-order valuator event; dropping.
[mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop.
