Background: I upgraded to Intrepid yesterday. Nearing the end of the
install there were a couple of "failed" upgrades. I remember one of
these was apparently update-manager, but I battled through and the
upgrade finished.
When I restarted into Intrepid, I obviously needed to change my repos,
so loaded up Software Sources. Nothing loaded up and a crash
notification popped up.
A couple of other Python apps are showing similar behavior. Gwibber
crashes in the same sort of way (blows up as soon as it hits
gtk.gdk.threads_init)
I've read through https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-
properties/+bug/97122

and the suggested fix in the thread (sudo dpkg --configure -a) does not
help me. I don't think it's a duplicate.
If you need a full backtrace, you'll have to point me at some
instructions on how to trace python apps. I tried gdb already but it
didn't seem to attach properly. No idea what's going on.
