Public bug reported:

source package: linux-headers-2.6.27-2 and/or linux-headers-2.6.27-2-generic
regression, this worked OK in hardy and it worked ok with Intrepid through
2.6.26.

Hi, with each new kernel release I have to recompile the virtualbox
driver for the kernel. Normally this is done via:

sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup

However this time I get this error:
 * Stopping VirtualBox kernel module
 *  done.
 * Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module

 * Look at /var/log/vbox-install.log to find out what went wrong

The vbox-install.log file says:
$ cat /var/log/vbox-install.log
make KBUILD_VERBOSE=1 -C /lib/modules/2.6.27-2-generic/build
SUBDIRS=/tmp/vbox.2 SRCROOT=/tmp/vbox.2 modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.27-2-generic'
make[1]: Makefile: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `Makefile'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.27-2-generic'
make: *** [vboxdrv] Error 2

When I look in this folder many of the files are broken symlinks
pointing to ../linux-headers-2.6.27-2/

I wondered if installing a package called linux-headers-2.6.27-2 would
fix the problem but when I try it says its already at the newest
version. It also says linux-headers-2.6.27-2-generic is at the newest
version.
