Public bug reported:
for some time ive had an issue with bluetooth not working in hardy (well since
i upgraded to hardy) bluetooth worked fine in gutsy.
i have as yet not been able to solve the problem, which is when i try and pair
2 bluetooth devices, the system locks up and i have to press the reset button
as nothing else works.
i have recently tried the intrepid kernel but no joy, in fact i couldnt get
bluetooth to work at all, i tried an alpha of intrepid and just installing the
newer kernel on my kubuntu set up and both times i couldnt even get bluetooth
to work.
anyway i thought i would have another go at getting it to work and thats when i
noticed that bluetooth for me anyway doesnt work at all ? that is to say when i
insert my bluetooth dongle into a usb port the system does nothing (i have all
relevant bluetooth packages installed) i have 2 other systems running linux as
well as mine and when i try to use the dongle the system will detect it and
then i can do things with bluetooth (right up until i try and pair anything)
but at least it works on some level, but on my system bluetooth doesnt work at
all, the only difference is that im using kde 4.1 so i am reporting this as a
bug with kde 4.1, if i log out and start a kde 3 session bluetooth works, but i
still cant pair anything,
but in kde 4.1 bluetooth does nothing, which is why i may have had trouble
using the alpha of intrepid as it uses kde 4.1 as well
