Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: e2fsprogs

Yesterday, something really strange happened on my laptop (current
intrepid i386): GDM complained that my $HOME was not available, while I
noticed disk activity. I logged in on tty1 and found an fsck process
checking my /home partition, while the rest of the system apparently
continued to boot instead of waiting for the fsck to complete. This is
my fstab entry:

UUID=43b5954b-ee79-46a0-bd6e-5a3673ec24e9 /home           ext3
defaults,noatime,user_xattr        0       2

After the fsck completed, I was able to mount /home manually and log in.

** Affects: e2fsprogs (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
