*With alpha4 i386*
[14:34] bah1976: ok, so I've just booted on vmware server 2.0, and I get
"sorry, the package "mythtv-backend 0.21.0+fixes17416-0ubuntu2" failed to
install or upgrade.
[14:43] bah1976: confirmed - without launching any icons, the "crash report
detected" shows up. Let me run the installer and see what happens.
[14:45] foxbuntu_vm: it shouldnt be doing mythtv-backend there anyways, prob
something needing updated in the livecd
[14:46] bah1976: ok - same thing happened. Got to Step 8 - choose frontend
plugins, got "Sorry, the program 'ubiquity' closed unexpectedly"
[14:47] foxbuntu_vm: bah1976, try a standard install
[14:47] foxbuntu_vm: not advanced
[14:47] bah1976: can 8.1 can be a front end to 8.04 without issue?
[14:48] foxbuntu_vm: bah1976, it can unless the MythTV proto's dont match up
[14:48] foxbuntu_vm: but I think they do
[14:54] superm1: bah1976, instabilityies in the installer?
[14:54] superm1: can you please post /var/log/syslog
[14:54] superm1: and /var/log/installer/debug if it exists?
[14:54] superm1: to a pastebin and/or bug
[14:54] superm1: if you have a crash report, file the crash report
[14:55] bah1976: foxbuntu_vm, standard install had the same problem, as soon as
step 12 pops up. superm1, I'll "report problem" - hang on
[14:56] superm1: oh man, step 12 crashing is bad. is this after doing stuff on
step 12?
[14:56] superm1: or just when it pops up?
[14:56] bah1976: when it pops up

*Alpha5 i386*
[16:02] bah1976: superm1, no initial crash...
[16:12] bah1976: superm1, with standard install, I get all the way to the
step14 without error. If I go back and do advanced, I get a ubiquity error
when step8 pops up.
[16:14] bah1976: looks like the same thing - AttributeError in mythweb_toggled()
[16:15] bah1976: I'm going to try advanced install without going to standard
first...
[16:16] superm1: bah1976, okay thanks for the additional data. i'll be able to
debug this tonight
[16:19] bah1976: superm1, fresh reboot, advanced install, secondary BE/FE, same
error. Do you want me to add anything to the bug?
