** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #543905
   http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543905

** Also affects: evince via
   http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543905
   Importance: Unknown
       Status: Unknown

** Summary changed:

- evince should Suggests tetex-bin for dvi
+ evince reports "incorrect format" for DVI files when no TeX distribution is
installed.

** Description changed:

- When I open a folder in nautilus contening a .dvi file, evince-
- thumbnailler start to make a thumbnail of it and show it in nautilus.
+ When opening a DVI file with evince, if no TeX distribution is
+ available, the error claims that the DVI file is at fault, rather than
+ the installation.

- At that moment, the CPU usage goes up to 100% and all the other programs
- I want to run are really really slow. When I stop evince-thumbnailler,
- every things go back to a normal state.
+ "Unable to open document", and below that, "DVI document has incorrect
+ format". The DVI document, however, may be perfectly fine; the issue is
+ that evince doesn't have DVI support installed. The error behavior
+ should be changed to make this clear.
