Hi list My company has some hardware to spare / donate (few servers, screens, workstations), but will only do so to a not-for-profit organisation. Since we're a software company and use lots of free software (including Ubuntu) internally, we (the Swiss office) think it would be fair to donate this hardware to free software related groups. Unfortunately, company policy requires that we dispose / donate hardware only to not for profit organisations, with a legal status (something about taxes I think). I know we don't have a legal existence in Switzerland, so the question is: - - What does it take to create a not-for-profit organisation in Switzerland? - - Would be benefit from such a structure? Maybe this would allow for a "real" budget / more credibility for PR/Press ? - - Could we use the hardware intelligently anyway? I'm worried about the storage, for example. If we don't want/need to have a formal legal existence, could you recommend a free software related organisation in Switzerland we could contact? Please let me know your thoughts on the subject... Thanks a lot! - - Trib' -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAklKZeYACgkQND4mi+cKVzQhLgCfdmJrB13VFtPX31iOBcPZQTMR BUkAnA20TmKytKN5R3X1V0ir6dirNcht =x2j1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Ubuntu-ch mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-ch
