Howdy folks,

I'd like to identify some low hanging fruit for new community members to work on. Shortly I'll begin calls for volunteers, as well as holding regular IRC meetings with the aim of helping new community members on-board and start contributing. Initially I'd like to only focus on cloudrelated work, as we move forward we'll take this further into generic "server" contributions as well

- Since we'll regularly need to identify new items to add to the list, I think we need to define some criteria on which tasks are suitable. So far I have the following in mind, awaiting your feedback: * Task should not require in-depth technical knowledge of a certain tool or codebase. This is so that newcomers are able to easily dive-in * Task should be integratable within the current cycle. i.e. Should a contributor step up, work on a task and finish it before any applicable freezes. It would be important for that work to get integrated in Ubuntu, this helps contributors not loose steam * Task leader/mentor (person who suggests it) should have a clear understanding of exactly what needs to be done, and should be willing to spend a few hours monthly guiding contributing members

So, please spam this thread with ideas matching the above criteria (or whatever we end up agreeing to) of tasks to tackle. Perhaps a good start, is any cloud related improvements that were mentioned at UDS, and that would be "nice to have" but that no one is really committed to working on

Awaiting feedback,
Regards
