Just realized I am asking entirely the wrong question to the wrong group of people. The question is not 'can UEC' be run on UCS (probably it could through the magic of virtualization, but why god?), the question is will ubuntu run on the virtual machines provided by vmware. I was backwards in my thinking of how this all worked.
