Hello, Currently the gconf schema default for the ubuntu wallpaper is set to warty-ubuntu-final.png. Although we'd like to update this to have a release agnostic name, unfortunately updating the default gconf schema does not update existing installation and we can't leave upgrading users without a desktop wallpaper. Although the name of the file is less than important, you may have noticed it ends in ".png" - locking us into png only images for wallpapers which may carry more weight. So, even if we do update the scheme (and symlink warty-ubuntu-final.png in the package), it will still lock us into a certain image type.
Ideas? Do we decide on an image type and use symlinks? Do we do nothing? etc? Thanks, Cody A.W. Somerville -- ubuntu-desktop mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-desktop
