This doesn't fit my normal thinking of bugs. The desktop background in hardy takes up 50 Mb on fresh boot (30 something on 32 bit). Isn't that a bit excessive? I am not sure what if anything can be done about it.
Reproduce: Boot with default background, note memory usage Turn it to blank color, reboot, note memory usage I do like the new background, btw. Thanks, Bryan
