For a year now, we have been trying to get the Soyuz team to make
Launchpad generate this metadata whenever a new package is published, so
that Ubuntu Software Center can download it whenever it downloads
Packages.gz. <https://dev.launchpad.net/ArchiveIndex> I suggest
explaining your use case to them (and perhaps adding it to the
specification).
