Hallo, I am also testing gnome-software 3.20.5 in Xenial. It's working well so far. In fact, I think it fixes this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+source/wine1.6/+bug/1571816, even though it was not affecting gnome-software in the first place.
