Hi Core Devs, As you may or may not know, the iproute package included in Hardy contains a fairly severe regression that causes several packages which perform traffic control to fail. Among the affected are the popular shorewall and wondershaper apps. This issue is tracked in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iproute/+bug/194623, but despite being reported back in March, and patched upstream by Debian, the issue does not seem to be addressed yet in Hardy. I believe this bug should qualify for the SRU process because:
- It affects Hardy, an LTS release. - It is a fairly severe regression, preventing multiple popular traffic control apps from functioning. - There is a known, and presumably safe, fix already released upstream. One other point of confusion: In the bug metadata, the maintainer listed for the iproute package is "Maintainer: Debian iproute maintainers". This doesn't seem congruent with the fact that Debian Core Developers is actually given in the deb. If there is anything I can personally do to help expedite a fix, please let me know. Thanks for your time. - Matt -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
