It gets as detailed as xkl_engine_get_groups_names. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it gives us much more than a US flag would; it just says "USA." (It usually doesn't abbreviate, though, which is nice). Shouldn't be too hard to do that; one just needs to know how to find out what key combination X is looking for.
