This will probably want the attention of the kernel team for a reply, so
forwarding there. Is there maybe a security reason why it is arranged
this way? I note that System.map is the same.

permissions on /boot/vmlinuz are 0600, preventing userspace utilities
like virt-builder in libguestfs from using the host kernel. should it
be readable only by root, or can it be changed to 644? posting here
because im not sure this is a bug.
