Just to make a note here: The patch you refer to was rejected. The merge request to fix the problem in another way, via https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/NetworkManager-fortisslvpn/-/merge_requests/15, has been sitting for two months without any movement and has NOT been accepted by Upstream yet. Perhaps we need to wait for this issue to actually be fixed upstream first?
