Greetings. Last Friday morning almost all of our Ubuntu 22 servers crashed while installing Ubuntu security updates. During testing, journal entries reported a stuck CPU seemingly related to kauditd, and the updates consistently install okay after disabling auditd. A little web searching yielded what appears to be the same issue with Red Hat and Amazon Linux in August, which was determined to be a bug caused by a race condition between auditd and kauditd. Is the same bug in Ubuntu 22? If so, has the bug been fixed (or when will it be fixed)? This issue occurred with auditd version 1:3.0.7-1build1 and linux-generic version 5.15.0.156.154
Thanks, .Ben Bridges.
