So, I blogged on the lp blog which got some more replies; and then microblogged too. Overall the results were roughly: - a couple of votes for the current behaviour - a lot of support for improving performance - some suggestions on how we might incorporate the search behaviour and still make it fast. For now, we've disabled this code path; the pragmatic impact in terms of the usefulness of search results should be minimal. We'll reevaluate once we're significantly further down the path of improving performance of search, when its overhead may become tolerable, or we can decide to invest in a scalable implementation of substring search. http://blog.launchpad.net/general/bug-search-no-long-does-substring-matching-of-source-package-names -Rob -- ubuntu-devel mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel
