It's not really a spam war. I try to live by one of Wikipedia's core principles: Assume good faith. It looks like some individuals from the Tunisian Ubuntu community are accidentally editing the main page while they are trying to sign up for the next Global Jam. Banning individuals from community participation for a mistake is not very welcoming. If you like, compare those edits with https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TunisianTeam/GlobalJam11.09 Perhaps this is because the individuals login so that they can edit the Global Jam page but when login is complete, the front page loads instead of the page they were on. The Ubuntu wiki & Launchpad gets only a relatively minimal amount of spam which I credit to the registration requirement and the work of Launchpad administrators and community volunteers who help to clean up what little does happen.
