Perhaps it might make more sense to change the label than to change the software it describes? I've written about this before. I'd much rather call it Ubuntu Classic. This is Ubuntu, after all. If I were a 10.04 user and I couldn't use indicators anymore, I would certainly consider that to be a regression.
