I was making my argument more general, so yes, thanks for reminding us to constrain it. I think my argument still applies in the cloud image case though. For example, I do my development work on cloud images, my current one has 21G free in /tmp, and I use debdiff on that machine. If /tmp were a tmpfs, that could go down to 4G I think, as the machine has 8G of virtual RAM. No swap is currently defined. So still, going by the defaults, my use would break with no custom configuration, and I expect something to be fixed either upstream or in Debian packaging or in an Ubuntu delta so I can still do this by default without having to change anything. I appreciate it's a native package in this case, but you get my point for the general case. Robie
