SO now the question remains.. what exactly does everyone think should be in the custom kernel ? Madwifi drivers for sure. --tobe The eee acpi module? --ramvi There's a general question regarding the approach here actually. Do we want to take the genkernel and just add the eee specific bits or would we like to produce a stripped down kernel that supports just the eee hardware (plus whatever you might reasonably expect to plug into it)? What's everybody's feeling on this ? -- tobe Stripped down kernel, remove hard drive support (except usb), floppy support, video drivers other than what eee uses, sound drivers.... In short. minimise the kernel and make it small and fast for this machine -- ludovicc adam is on top of things :) 2.6.24-21-eeepc is golden --adam -- Make a custom kernel https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+spec/custom-kernel _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-eee-coders Post to : ubuntu-eee-coders@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-eee-coders More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
