Thanks Adam, but that doesn't work. I understand that the packages need to be installed, and that it appears they are not... but I can't find them.
I tried searching for all bluetooth packages in synaptic before adding to this thread. Do I need to enable additional repositories? Am I just getting the package names wrong? In addition to a synaptic search for "bluetooth", I tried a few different apt-get installs with the following results: :~$ sudo apt-get install bluetooth gnome-bluetooth Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Couldn't find package bluetooth :~$ sudo apt-get install gnome-bluetooth Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package gnome-bluetooth is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package gnome-bluetooth has no installation candidate :~$ sudo apt-get install hcitool Reading package lists...
