This might be fixed with the eeepc-config updates currently in progress.
I'll try to validate if this problem is fixed once the config package is
complete.

Version: Ubuntu eee 8.0.4.1
System: eeePC 901
User: linux noob
I just decided to reinstall because I had mucked some stuff up and discovered a
problem that I had ignored in the first install thinking that it was a one-time
quirk. After the install process, at the very end you get a button that says
"Restart", but clicking it does not restart the machine. It seems to be
non-functional, at least on my 901. I had to hold down the power button to
shut down and now I recall I had to do the same thing the first time around.
Did anyone else see this?
