Question #44146 on Ubuntu Eee changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+question/44146
Status: Open => Answered Adam McDaniel proposed the following answer: There is no harm in keeping your copy of ubuntu on an SD card and booting off it it when needed. It may be a little slower than if it were installed locally, but it will work. However, you'll soon notice that any chances you make to your Ubuntu setup will not be kept when shutting down. It is possible to convert the ISO image on your SD into a "Persistent Live CD" (or, in the Eeepc's case, a "Persistent Live SD"). There are several sites that explain how to do this. I just did a quick google search and found https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD/Persistence https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LiveUsbPendrivePersistent These instructions appear specific to earlier versions of Ubuntu, but they may work for v8.10 (Hardy). -- You received this question notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Eee Coders, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu Eee. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-eee-coders Post to : ubuntu-eee-coders@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-eee-coders More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
