Public bug reported:

aptitude keeps trying to reinstall eeepc-config
when it runs the script /etc/init.d/eeepc-config, the script fails complaining
that dev.wifi0.ledpin does not exist.
sysctl -a confirms that this key does not exist

Maybe I'm missing a kernel module?

Attaching the output of lsmod

using ubuntu-eee 8.04.1 on eee pc 1000
