Question #47591 on Ubuntu Eee changed:

    Status: Open => Answered

itsme proposed the following answer:
Have you had an EFI partition on your original 1000H?
I've had exactly the same symptoms ("iwlist ra0 scan" showed me the available
WLANs but I got no "connection" between the 1000H and my WiFi router). After I
accidentally reinstalled the EFI partition
(see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensible_Firmware_Interface) and again
reinstallation of eeebuntu it worked out of the box.
Still, I'm not sure if there is any relation between the EFI partition and
working components of my 1000H, but EFI is very much related to firmware stuff
and wireless chips too!

Hope you made some backups before!

Good luck!
