** Description changed: After upgrade from ubuntu eee 8.01.1 to easy peasy 8.10 I see message that "CPU Frequency Scaling is not supported". apt-get installing cpufreqd and cpufrequtils allows gnome applet to monitor the freq but its locked at "perfomance". Manualy loading p4_clockmod (modprobe p4_clockmod) allows proper operation, BUT adding p4_clockmod to /etc/modules and rebooting does NOT allow gnome applet to change speeds. In other words, p4_clockmod only works if loaded manualy. + + (added Jan 11 09) + This also happens in a fresh install of easy peasy. It may be 70x specific.
