styyle14 > It *is* an Ubuntu bug and it has not to be closed until it is
resolved or it is decided that it will never be fixed (Wontfix). It is
an Ubuntu bug because Ubuntu user are experiencing it.

The cause of the bug is not relevant here. The bug is that Atheros
Wireless chipset are *not* working when using Ubuntu. As long as this
chipset is not working out of the box on an Ubuntu installation, this
bug has to remain open.

Posting in this thread is useful if you have an easy workaround so you
can help people that have the same problem.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules

The Eee PC has non-working wireless out of the box. A patch is available from
the madwifi website:

http://madwifi.org/ticket/1679

I'd like to have working wireless in hardy, without having to patch/compile
manually :)
