Bryce: The unpatched eeepc module sends volume keys ass acpi events (which are currently mismapped in Ubuntu). You can work around this by changing acpi scripts. Matthew's patch send keys through the input layer doing away with ACPI altogether. Two approaches to solving the problem but I'd say Matthew's is cleaner and likely to go upstream at some point.
