hello! i've now freshly installed ubuntu hardy, and everything seems to work better than ever before, even wi-fi. wow.
the only thing that still bothers me a lot is, when i plug in my usb device, it's not automatically mounted, like on my kubuntu machine, and this hasnt got anything to do with /etc/fstab, because on my kubuntu machine i havent edited the fstab file either and it still recognizes and mounts my usb stick automatically. hmmm when i plug it in, it says it cant mount it because it requires root rights. so eventually i have to mount it manually through the terminal. pain in the arse. :( do you have any advice for that to make my life with my eeepc more pleasurable :D thanks a lot :) theresa 2008/11/4 Dimitris Symeonidis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > hi theresa, > which version of the eee do you have? > what you could try is log into a terminal and remove compiz and compiz-core > tell us if this worked for you > good luck > > Dimitris Symeonidis > "If you think you're too small to make a difference, try sleeping with > a mosquito!" - Amnesty International > > > > On Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 22:09, Theresa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hello friends, > > > > I couldn't resist and thought i'd go for an upgrade to Ibex, as maybe it > > would solve my wi-fi issues.
