comunitario y hacer propuestas concretas. Que podemos proponer?

Subject: LoCo Council Call Meeting Notes
To: "Ubuntu local community team (LoCo) contacts"
<[email protected]>

Hi all,

A few weeks back I organised a phone call between myself and the LoCo
Council. I was keen to catch up with the council to see the progress
that has been made and to discuss some ideas about opening up and
coordinating the LoCo Community better. Here the notes from the call.

LoCo Council Call - Feb 2nd 2009
--------------------------------

Agenda:

  * LoCo Council Health Check
   - Regular LoCo Council Meetings

  * LoCo Community Growth Plans
   - General LoCo Meetings
   - loco-contacts
   - General Outreach
   - Developer Outreach - GBJ, Jams

Notes:

  * The LoCo Council feels a little misguided and they need focus to
work on.
  * Right now the council is primarily doing conflict resolution.

  * No real made exists for the expectations of the council.
   - A mandate is required - Jono Bacon to work with Alan Pope
(representing the LoCo Council) to drive this forward.
   - Expectations need to be documented not only for the council, but
for the community too.

  * Monthly LoCo Council meetings are happening
   - These meetings could be better publicised
   - The meetings are primarily for governance related issues and
conflict beween teams.
   - The Community are welcome to attend, but limited numbers do.

  * We should have two monthly meetings:
   - One is for administrative loco-council discussions. Will discuss:
     -
   - One is for wider project goals and sharing best practise

  * Communication:
   - It seems the #ubuntu-locoteams IRC channel is rarely used.
   - loco-contacts is getting used, but less than optimal
   - We need to advertise the IRC channel more, and ensure enthusiastic
members from teams are attending.
   - Monthly meetings (both LoCo Council and LoCo Community) should
happen in the #ubuntu-locoteams IRC channel.
   - Languages is an issue: right now we demand English speakers in the
IRC channel
     - We should organise more meetings (even in different languages) in
the IRC channel.
     - We should organise LoCo Q+A sessions in multiple languages in the
IRC channel.

  * LoCo Database:
   - Work is ongoing with Rich Johnson to build the schema that was
discussed at UDS.
   - The plan is to still have a central database and then many
additional mash-ups.
   - The LoCo Council will help moderate the data in the database to
ensure that it is accurate and avoids spam.
   - Jono Bacon to connect Rich Johnson and LoCo Council over this work.

discussion about the database with council and rich and daniel

Actions
-------

  * Alan Pope to drive forward the development of a LoCo Council mandate.
  * Nick Ali to organise (1) regular LoCo Council and (2) LoCo Community
meetings.
   - Both meetings will occur monthly.
   - Be conscious of timezones
  * Jono Bacon to connect Rich Johnson and LoCo Council over this work.
  * Jono Bacon to write up a blog post about this work.

Thanks,

     Jono
