I disagree. I run Ubuntu GNOME for development purposes on a Virtualbox VM and it's very fine. Perhaps you need to allocate more RAM to your VM.

I have been using virtual machines for quite while. Ubuntu Gnome has to be slow on virtual box because from my personal experiance, Gnome ubuntu itself is heavier than normal ubuntu not to talk of your slow virtual box. Why not install a fast virtual machine - VMWare? Then it is hard to say but I have 2 tel u d ugly truth which is to install normal ubuntu on d VMWare . Or just partition your harddisk and install dual boot. I'm the Team Leader of Communications and Support Teams of Lubuntu. My Wiki Page is: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/amjjawad/ I'm one of the most active members of Lubuntu Team. It is really hard for me to find some free time to try out something new but because I do love GNOME Classic and it's been a very long time since I used Ubuntu 10.04, I'd like to give the new version of yours a try. However, before that, is there anything I should know before I start? You may know, Lubuntu is quite different than other flavors. I am NOT looking for something similar, that is for sure but I'd really like to give Ubuntu GNOME a try :) Above all, if things go well, I might join the team if you guys don't mind. If I like a system, I return the favor and contribute. I've been an official member of Lubuntu Team for 2 years because I love Lubuntu a lot. I have followed your Social Network Pages/Community to stay up to date with your news :) I'm going to download the stable version after sending this email and if things get interesting, I may download the Alpha1 and check :) Thank you :) -- "All of us are smarter than any one of us." *Best Regards,* *amjjawad <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/amjjawad/>* *Start Ubuntu<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/CommunicationsTeam/WOWLubuntu/StartUb untu> * *My Own Business <http://alilinx.blogspot.com/>* -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It is very slow. I guess I need to think outside my Lubuntu Way :D Anyway, while I was doing some search as I was curious to find the Minimum System Requirement for Ubuntu GNOME, all what I have found is: http://askubuntu.com/questions/99005/what-are-the-system-requirements-for-gn ome-3 What surprised that no clear detailed system requirements for the system or maybe I did not search good enough? Thank you! P.S. The system looks interesting and I'm starting to be motivated to officially join the team and help out :) -- "All of us are smarter than any one of us." *Best Regards,* *amjjawad <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/amjjawad/>* *Start Ubuntu<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/CommunicationsTeam/WOWLubuntu/StartUb untu> * *My Own Business <http://alilinx.blogspot.com/>* -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
