For now, when I joined, I talked with Alfredo with the possibility of
including new themes and wallpapers. The wallpaper contest is already
live. So lets come to the themes.
We cannot include a Gnome Shell theme for obvious reasons. They break
every release, and when a user installs a newer Gnome version through
PPA, it'll be pretty broken.
Coming to GTK themes, they no longer break for quite a few Gnome
releases. New widgets are introduced, but the theme is backwards
compatible. So I think it's safe to include a GTK theme. I'll make
sure it is updated for latest GNOME.
I have a theme, named Evolve <http://fav.me/d4dn66o>, that I would
propose to include in Ubuntu GNOME.
It doesn't use any engine, so no extra dependency. Let me know what
you think.

Does it mean that the default GTK theme will be replaced? In that case
I will be completely against the change, as we are Ubuntu GNOME (for
good and bad).
Regards.
