Hi Fran,
gitg is synced from debian, you should file a bug over there requesting an
update. Once its packaged in debian we can just copy it over (after
U-series opens for development of course)

Hi everyone,

Baring in mind that exist packages for Gitg 0.2.7 and it doesn't have a general
interest for desktop users, I'm sending this email to ask
packagers to take a look if Gitg 0.3~ after UG 14.04 release will be launched.

Gitg 0.2~ is having its age and with some of my repositories it crashes. The
new release has a new interface that matches the GNOME 3 UI and
it is based on libgit2 that it is said to get huge performance improvements.

You can get more information about how to build it from the next link:
https://wiki.gnome.org/action/show/Apps/Gitg?action=show&redirect=Gitg

Can you take a look if it can be packaged? I have tried to do it but I don't
have a lot of experience packaging 'cmake'-based apps.

Thanks in advance!

Regards.

Hi Tim,

seems that the original debian maintainer is working in the new gitg dependencies according to comments in bug reports:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=740423
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=706119

Hope to see everything in place and get those packages ready for Trusty+1 or maybe backport them to Trusty.

Regards
