I am not sure if this is actually possible, does Ubuntu do this?

I do know ubuntu overrides the default home page in firefox, and this requires a firefox plugin. Since in general you can't touch user settings from system packaging.

However feel free to file a wishlist bug for this.

This will be very helpful for our users so that they could find the links they need right in front of their eyes on their browser without the need to do anything except clicking those links.

If this is a feature and too late to go for it, we could very much forget about it right now and look into with the next cycle.

If it is possible still, that would be super great.
