We came 2nd after #Lubuntu so why not first?

With all due respect, one has to look at the target audience and the message. Simply stated, Lubuntu is marketed as a distro for older hardware so users have a very clear expectation as to why they should use it. Ubuntu unity is the flagship so that has a natural draw and message. Ubuntu GNOME is targeted toward users who like the Ubuntu distro but want the GNOME experience. To that end, the user has to be knowledgeable enough to understand the differences between Unity and GNOME.

Case in point, This last Saturday, I showed a bunch of computer users (reasonably technical) the GNOME and Unity systems side by side with two laptops. GNOME used the Dash to Dock so the dock was always visible. Most said that they could not see much of a difference between the two systems.

So, IMO, to move up in the Distro ranking would require that we refine our message to resonate with the average user.
