Yea, I guess part of what I worry about is that well, users exposed to
GNOME 3 in the past will know that they could just do `touch
~/Templates/MyFile.extension`. But for the masses or those being
introduced to Ubuntu GNOME for the first time as a both a choice and
desktop environment it might turn out frustrating as they wouldn't have
an idea.

Was thinking if leaving blank templates like LIbreOffice files, Text
file, would be in place.

Well, this is just my two cents. I just recently started using Ubuntu
GNOME recently and I also don't want to walk over what has been planned,
etc.
