The artwork team is working on everything now - installer, logo, website,
wallpapers, I even want a Firefox theme if you will (as soon as I figure out
how to do it) for a complete personalized desktop experience. It's a small
extra, but it would be nice.

We know people want to see results, but real life comes first. Some of us had
their exams and some have work way over their head.

We're currently discussing the final stages of some projects. Yesterday I
started modifying our pictograms and soon I'll have a look at ubiquity.

As far as the logo is concerned, borrowing GNOME's was a mistake from day 1.
It's highly confusing, and due to its complexity difficult to work with, plus
using someone else's logo as our own isn't quite all right, even though certain
permissions have been given it will never be clear unless it's completely
changed, which it will, soon.

Rule of thumb: Changing somebody else's trademark is a no go and is often a
violation (many entities have an explicit statement, that altering their
identity is strictly prohibited). An identity is a unique representation of a
product/company. Using somebody else's should only be done in full context with
no modifications and w/ permission.

Personally, I don't (entirely) agree with what Xubuntu and Ubuntu MATE did
(technically they violate some rules, because they have modified somebody
else's logo and used it to represent themselves), but if those whose identities
were forked don't object, neither can anyone else.

As far as the the Craiglist issue goes, we should drop it. Unless it's someone
earning a fortune and literally claiming the product as their own it's not an
issue.

Nothing ruins creativity like too many voices weighing in. We call it the Ice
Cream Principle. Tell 10 people to go get ice cream with one condition: they
all have to agree on one flavour. That flavour is going to be chocolate or
vanilla every time. Groups of people don't agree on what's cool or interesting,
they agree on what's easy to agree on.

The full logo has approval from both Canonical and the GNOME foundation and is
fully legit.
The problem is that the GNOME foundation wont allow us to use the roundel by
itself, i.e like what you see on the plymouth boot splash screen,
since it looses the context of 'Ubuntu'. This is a particular problem on social
media sites and what not.
