If you are talking about the "we don't support bugs from PPA's"? that was just 
a misunderstanding by a bug triager. That is the general rule,
however most of the ubuntu flavours (and even Ubuntu proper) have ppa's that 
they use for staging updates, prior to upload into the archives,
and in these cases, the whole point is to find and fix any bugs!
