really, can we come up with better names for these teams,

We're merging 3 sub-teams in 1 so what 'other' names do you have in mind? :)

Is it really necessary to worry about the name? I mean, it is enough for us to
understand what each sub-team is for and we can simply
translate the idea into words and update our Wiki ;)
So, I am not sure what 'other names' should we use?

If you, for example, read the description of:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugnome-artmark
<https://launchpad.net/%7Eubuntugnome-artmark>
but what is "artmark"! certainly doesnt convey marketing if view outside of a
context, where you know what it means.

how about:
ubuntugnome-media
ubuntugnome-pr
or
ubuntugnome-artmktg
the last of which is ugly, but atleast a little self descriptive. I think I
would go for the first, ubuntugnome-media
/This is a NEW sub-team for Ubuntu GNOME and will be dedicated for:
     (a) Artwork.
     (b) Marketing.
     (c) Communications.
     (d) Public Relations.
     (e) Translations./

The first four make sense, remind me why translations is bundled up in this?
To rename a launchpad team with a mailing list, I need to remove the mailing
list and redo the entire thing. I don't mind but I see no 'good'
reason for that, IMHO. But then again, if you guys think the name is a high
priority then sure :)

Just for everyone's information:

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugnome-artmark
<https://launchpad.net/%7Eubuntugnome-artmark> vs “Ubuntu GNOME Artwork &
Marketing” team

It is a click away to rename the 2nd name, which is a label (Ubauntu GNOME Artwork
& Marketing team) but to change the first one
(~ubuntugnome-artmark), you need to remove the mailing list (if any) and then
rename it.

Again, if you see we 'must' do that, I'm more than happy to do it :)
and perhaps completely rename the first "Human Development" doesnt really
convey the
     purpose of the team!

 From the archive:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2015-August/003392.html

Allow me to quote:

     /*A- Human Resources Sub-Team*

        - Although we're probably the first project that have a dedicated
team/sub-team for HR (Human Resources) [1] , we have never used it as a
sub-team. ALL the recruiting efforts - correct me if I am wrong, please
-
were done by myself, only, AFAIK and IIRC :)
        - Because of the great importance of sub-team, I have come up with
better idea. I am not going to cancel/drop that sub-team, in fact, I
need
to send a new email that will explain how powerful this idea will
become.
So please, give me sometime until I finish that new email :)
        - I want to re-name this sub-team to: *Human Development*. I am now
having more skills of how to take someone from zero and convert him/her
to
a hero. It's years of practise and beyond. I have many successful
examples
and I became more experienced with these skills. This will be a
dedicated
area for newcomers to Ubuntu GNOME or those who feel they're useless or
less helpful. That would be a free service my project Kibo [2] will
offer
for now. I'll be the one who will take care of those. For this cycle, I
am
ready to take between 5-8 people under my wing. Help them and empower
them.
Don't want to get more into details here but imagine a newcomer who
would
become a leader/driver for a sub-team in almost no time? what could be
more
        amazing than that? ;)
        - The new sub-team (Human Development) will help us to move to Community
Version 2.0 and 3.0 - I will send another email about this soon,
hopefully.
        - *Summary*: Rename Ubuntu GNOME HR sub-team to Ubuntu GNOME HD (Human
        Development) sub-team./

That is why I chose "Human Development" :)
I get the concept, but don't think "Human development" really conveys that, we
are really talking skills development, but that also is not a
great team name. Not really sure what I would call this one, so I'll go with the stock
boring "Ubuntu GNOME new contributors team"

If you drop "new" from that I think it sounds and looks fine; "Ubuntu GNOME Contributors Team". Obviously those "older" and more experienced members will be needed there to guide the newest members.

And here:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2015-August/003393.html

The Human Resources (AKA Recruiting) is suggested to be done within each
sub-team. Since we have created and added the Ubuntu GNOME HR Sub-Team:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugnome-hr <https://launchpad.net/%7Eubuntugnome-hr>

We have never done anything, really.

I am trying to re-explain why I have suggested that on the first place.

IMHO, it is better.

The human development team can help the newcomers + the existing members to
master new skills and add more experience to what they have.

Again, I am more than happy to accept any feedback but I thought it is better
to re-explain why I am doing all this :)
