Μερικά σχόλια: α. Η εγκατάσταση των plugins του Gstreamer (codec) γίνεται on-demand· φορτώνουμε το αρχείο στο πρόγραμμα αναπαραγωγής πολυμέσων (Totem) και αυτό αν χρειάζεται θα φέρει από το διαδίκτυο τα αντίστοιχα plug-in (codec). Νομίζω ότι το ίδιο θα γίνει για την υποστήριξη DVD (δεν χρειάζεται να γίνει χρήση της γραμμής εντολών). β. Για τις περισσότερες δουλειές, το προεπιλεγμένο πρόγραμμα αναπαραγωγής πολυμέσων Totem αρκεί για ταινίες. Ακόμα και αν έχουμε υπότιτλους, και αν είναι με κωδικοποίηση iso-8859-7, το Totem έχει επιλογή για να τα δείξει. Το αρχείο υποτίτλων πρέπει να έχει ίδιο όνομα με την ταινία, κατάληξη αρχείου .str.
