Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

In Ubuntu we do not update stable releases with new upstream versions in
order to keep stable releases stable, and keepalived in Ubuntu does not
currently have an exception on this. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for the policy and
rationale.

If there needs to be an exception then somebody needs to come forward to
drive it.

The version in Wily is on 1.2.13 so already meets your request (though
not in the LTS for reasons above), so I'm marking this bug as Invalid.

Title:
Please update Keepalived version on Ubuntu 14.04 to 1.2.10 (or above)

Status in keepalived package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
We use keepalived in OpenStack Neutron for L3 High Availability.
Currently Ubuntu 14.04 ships an older version of keepalived (1.2.7 to be
precise).

In order to have IPv6 support, we would require keepalived version 1.2.10 (or
above).
Please update the keepalived version on Ubuntu 14.04 to 1.2.10 (or above).
