There has been no change to the library ABI. The ubuntu-hams community uses and tests hamlib on an ongoing basis throughout the upstream development cycle. I am a member of the upstream hamlib development team and the Debian maintainer for the package. I have tested the library and the packaging extensively in Ubuntu.
