Dear Anurag,BG,Aanjhan,Sridhar Ratna & Friends, I am very glad to see your enthusiasm and eagerness to help out people. Very nice ! Please keep it up ! > Anurag, I think you can be of much help to all of us as your are sitting very much there in the heart of the things. As you are saying of Ubuntu advance version and its DVDs will be of tremendous help to Indian users of open system. You are very correct that this installation and running of Ubuntu is not that easy here. In my case I have faced lot of difficulties . Till this date I could not create a dialler on my desk top to get connected with ISP. As soon as I put on the modem it is directly connected (unlike MS-XP) with the broadband (In my case BSNL)which is very disadvantageous for me as my son (15 yrs.) get access to all non-sense web sites in my absence. And all time one can not take out the Ethernet cable. And so many other things for which I will need the help from you all time and again. I feel that simple Cd's. will be better like Ubuntu 5.10 which are easily operable with any cdrom. Is it the same with the DVDs you are talking about? I am using Evolution -Mail, but with this program I am still can not make the letters bold, underline them etc. Those icons do not function. How to do this?
>BG .... It is so nice to here that you stay in Kolhapur. But my dear in no way it is near by. Since Nagpur is centrally located Kolhapur or Calcutta they are at the same distance by Super fast trains. But friends home are never far they are always very near. So in that sense it is next door. Is it not !? In Nagpur schools/colleges open in late June/July, and then rainy season starts, so last part of rainy season and early part of winter is always preferable. We will chalk out the program. Can you speak Marathi, if you can then it will be added advantage. I think printed material is must before any demonstration or workshop. You can ask Anurag or Ubuntu people if they have any or can they be of any help in this. That is all for now With love Vilas -- ubuntu-in mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
