-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Can someone confirm this with the latest feisty beta:
1. during installation, select Hindi as the default language for install and programs. After install is complete, see if the Hindi locale is utf8 enabled by default. This can be done by: a) opening a konsole or gnome-terminal window and ~$ locale -a | grep hi_IN.utf8 If this shows up hi_IN.utf8, then this means that you can have hindi filenames etc. This is critical for a proper hindi desktop. 2. After installing the hindi openoffice language pack, open openoffice and try to type any string with more than one hindi character. On my system, openoffice with the hindi language pack is useless because I can only type the first letter of any word, i.e, no Hindi character that is not a) the first character in the file, OR b) preceded by a space appears. please guys, let's fix this problem before feisty is released. This has been an issue with Dapper as well. thanks, Aniruddha Shankar -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGC49ahJkrd6A3rSsRAo5YAKDMQiPadIC3HS2r6g4i+iwP5eZ10ACeOuPA A4g9mbL06hcnnb2Wk2dNL6g= =68oe -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- ubuntu-in mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
