Friends, I will try to give more details regarding the problem. My computer has no media files in the hard drive. All such files are on the CD.
1) The computer can copy other files from the CD to the computer but not media files. When I enter the media cd in the drive it takes a long time to open. More then often than not the computer hangs. When I try to copy the media files to the desktop, the following message is displayed: Error "I/O error" while copying "/media/cdr... To Me.mp3". 2) When I right click on the files to read the properties, the properties show that the file is a text file, while it is actually a MP3 file. If we try to play the file the following message is displayed: "The filename "02 - Breathe.mp3" indicates that this file is of type "MP3 audio". The contents of the file indicate that the file is of type "plain text document". If you open this file, the file might present a security risk to your system. Do not open the file unless you created the file yourself, or received the file from a trusted source. To open the file, rename the file to the correct extension for "plain text document", then open the file normally. Alternatively, use the Open With menu to choose a specific application for the file." 3) Exactly similar is the case with video files. Now if I have made myself clear, please HELP.
